An update to The Secret Recordings of Carmen Segarra, our collaboration with ProPublica about the New York Fed. The New York Times has a report today about confidential information that was allegedly leaked by a New York Fed employee to a Goldman Sachs employee … who had formerly worked at the New York Fed. All three employees have been fired. This comes as the Senate Banking Committee plans to hold a hearing tomorrow in response to our and ProPublicas investigation into regulatory capture at the New York Fed. The witnesses will include New York Fed president Bill Dudley and David Beim, the former Columbia professor featured in our story who wrote a confidential report in 2009 about how the New York Fed failed in the years leading up to the financial crisis.
