Failing to achieve this we plan to hold funeral prayers in his absence. If his family allow us to hold a Muslim burial, then we would need urgent funds which amounts to£3200. We are currently in the process of registering as a charity and constructing a website. How we began: In May 2014, we learnt about Peter Chatfield - Saeed Islam. He had been in hospital since being diagnosed with spinal cancer. We provided him with a befriending and burial support. Ms Islam had no family in the UK. Due to ill health, she was taken into an elderly peoples care home where she died. The care home could not process the funeral speedily citing that Islamic funeral was expensive. Volunteers from EOL learnt about this appeal and started to help raise the much needed funds. EOL Projects: Befriending and Advocacy: We provide support for people who are reaching end of life. Policies: We campaign for releasing Muslim dead bodies early for burial. Care: Campaign to provide culturally inclusive service in care homes.
