Anambra gov: APGA panel screens Soludo, Obidigbo Professor Charles Soludo and Dr. Chile Obidigbo have appeared before the All Progressive Grand Alliance Screening Panel, constituted by the party to peruse the credentials of those seeking to contest the Anambra State governorship election on its platform. The three-man committee is headed by Alhaji Tayo Sowunmi. The two candidates agreed to embrace any agreement that could arrive at producing a consensus candidate for the election, which is slated for November 16. Soludo and Obidigbo spoke with journalists after they appeared before the panel, which sat at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Thursday. They said their aspiration to govern the state was not a do-or-die affair, and therefore were ready to support any move by the stakeholders to promote cohesiveness within the party. Obidigbo, who spoke first said, “The fact that we are many contesting for the tick of the party means that we are many, who are qualified to do that job. But at the end of the day, only one person will emerge the flag bearer for the party.” Soludo said he joined the APGA not necessarily because of the governorship contest but to build the party. The former Governor of Central Bank said, “I am saying my priority in joining All Progressive Grand Alliance is to help to build APGA as a formidable political party.
