Anantnag Town Deprived of Cable TV Network, Cable operators looting people, administration silent. Anantnag, 25/08/2014: The cable TV network, which is considered to be the back bone of information & entertainment means of a common man has became a headache for the masses. The citizens of Anantnag town are feeling bothered by the Dictator like attitude of the cable operators of the town. Cable operators are looting us and are not giving even 10% quality transmission or service, said Javaid Ahmad on phone. Another consumer complained that cable operators are taking Rs. 150 as monthly fee against only 30 channels, which is a mere atrocity, he alleged. Cable TV Network has been halted since this morning without any information by the operators. When we tried to contact the Cable Operators of the Anantnag Town, they seemed to be reluctant to communicate as their cell phones were found switched off. It is worth to note that district administration never showed their influence or involvement in the operation of the cable TV network operators and there is reportedly no monitoring authority set for the purpose.
