Ancelotti confident both Cristiano and Benzema will be fit for Champions League final: Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti is confident that both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema will both be fit to start in next Saturday’s Champions League final, despite both forwards nursing injuries over the past two weeks. In a brief interview with AS upon his arrival to the Valdebebas training ground, Ancelotti was asked if two part of the BBC attacking duo would be ready to face their cross-town rivals, Atletico Madrid in Lisbon. “Cristiano and Benzema are both well. I think they’ll play.” The report goes on to say that while Ancelotti was cool in his response, he appeared to be confident that they would face one of the best backlines in Spain and Europe. Benzema suffered an adductor injury against Espanyol, but has been progressing well in his recovery while Cristiano, whose knee has continued to give him fits over the past month, is confident he’ll be featured in the final and will lead Real Madrid to the elusive Décima. Pepe, however, is not likely to play and is expected to miss the final with Raphael Varane taking his place.
