Ancient Indian Tradition of Yoga @ MRIS, Charmwood The interest about the ancient Indian tradition of Yoga is on an all time high. Yes, the children of primary wing have learnt about yoga in their GES curriculum. With the visit of Dr. Ganesh Lal Mundra, a writer, orator, social worker, a practicing naturopath and of course a well-known authority in Yoga, students of grades 4 and 5 got to perform a reality check on the fusion of body, mind and spirit. Author of several books and articles in leading newspapers on health and naturalistic therapy and also the founder of Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital, Dr. Moondra demonstrated several common asanas and their benefits. He was assisted by his disciple Mr. Naveen Asthana on stage. Children took keen interest in emulating all the moves right from the correct breathing (prananyam) to the correct postures of simhasana, mandukasana, trikonasana and several others. Even our teachers followed the show with great enthusiasm and took active part in the workshop. After the hour long workshop on Thursday morning, the children felt greatly rejuvenated. They interacted with Dr. Moondra about their queries and issues. We express our sincere gratitude to him for such an enlightening workshop.
