Ancient Predictions of Ferguson from 1928 Cinema I have mentioned many times before that one of my all time favorite films is the 1928 silent film, Fritz Langs, Metropolis. This films tells the story of a two-class society; the workers and the elect. An evil robots spirit has been transferred to the heroine protagonist, Maria. In this clip she ignites anarchy and rebellion in their society. They go on a mob-led riotous spree, destroying all the machines that run the city. While out reveling, and unbeknownst to the rebillers they have flooded their own city, and putting their unattended children at risk of drowning. Images from this clip have been on my mind with the current situation in Ferguson. The modern day Maria inciting the mob are the race baiters. You know who they are. The incite anarchy and destruction and ruin the town that their own kids live in. They are eating their young in both cases. Anyway, I find the symbolism in past and modern day rebellions to be the same. Stick with the clip for the full 20 min scene.
