And 10...If you really know me, youll know there has to be more I want to tell you. When you stop and think about all of this, it couldnt possibly have happened if left solely up to us. When Bill was in high school, I was in diapers (great prom date huh), when Bill was home from the service and I was grown up I was acting like a child. I went to the east coast, then New Mexico, then Colorado. He stayed right here and went from seriously looking, to thinking being a bachelor wasnt all bad, to believing his chance at a family was behind him. I came here shattered and leary of marriage, he was working and playing himself to death. But today, as I finished a book, I read this scripture and thought, thats it!! Proverbs 19:21 You can make many plans, but the Lords purpose will prevail. We made lots and lots of plans, but we were drawn like magnets to each other, there was nothing on earth that could have prevented our being together. We laugh now about the what ifs, for both of us. It was like a play and we were both watching and acting in it. All I know is a lifetime is never long enough for a good marriage, or friendship, or family...and that is why Im so thankful that there is an eternity to look forward to with other believers. My Mom was 25 years younger than my Dad and she was alone a long time. She asked me once to be sure about the age difference, I remember saying Ive known a bad marriage, Ive been alone, I would rather have 20 years with Bill Geiger than 50 with the wrong man. She was thrilled because, as I said, she loved Bill! After 20 years Bill had his first heart attack and I knew then that eternity would seem too little time with him. We have survived many things, marriage is difficult, it takes work. We have gone through all the words you say so easily at a wedding ceremony, but once youve survived them, they become the reason you make it. I dont want to forget some of the fun stuff though so how about these: When someone asked Bill after a week of marriage hows marriage his not so brilliant reply was its great, I dont have to do laundry anymore. 😉 or being amazed that I could cook, thought my Mom had been doing it all. He kind of forgot sometimes that he was married, he whispered in church he was playing golf and I had wanted to eat out. After church I headed home and the big Thunderbird went pretty fast when I was upset, the patrolman who pulled me over said I just wanted to see what Bill Geiger caught 😕 Didnt help him get back in my good graces 😊 Bill has survived giving up a serious smoking habit, lots of heart trouble, a bull that very nearly killed him, driving faster than anyone Id ever known...but most of all...me! He is a saint, he is a gentleman, he is funny, he is my best friend. We laughed in the middle of this because I am SO thankful he isnt on facebook writing about HIS memories. Ill end with a couple of pictures - glad to have you along on this journey! 😊
