“And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.” (2 Kings 3: 14). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. When the three Kings in our Focal Scripture came to Elisha, they got a response because Elisha had regards for Jehoshaphats presence. So, Jehoshaphat’s presence opened the door for a solution; Jehoshaphat’s presence saved another King that was in trouble. Jehoshaphat turned around the fortunes of the group. Beloved, God says, be the one that will turn the fortunes of your group around. Be the good citizen that will make your nation better; be the man/woman of prayer that will bring divine answers to your family and friends; be the one whose presence will open doors for others; be the employee that will turn around your place of work; be the public servant that would make things work; be the good leader that will take others higher in destiny. Prophets were God’s representatives in Old Testament times; so Jehoshaphat’s connection to God connected other people to their solutions. As you stay connected to God, you will connect others to their solutions, you will help people rise to the next level, and people will receive divine attention and intervention through you. Don’t wait for others to make things happen; be the one that will make things happen; be the one whose name will attract favour to others; be the one who will win greater grace for others; be the one who will make people’s lives more meaningful. Be the one whose blessings will count in the lives of others. Philippians 2 vs. 4 captures it aptly: “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” Pray With Me: Lord, give me grace to turn around the fortunes of others, in Jesus’ name!
