And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In our Focal Scripture, Elisha sent one of the sons of the prophets to go and anoint Jehu as King of Israel. The identity of the trainee prophet wasn’t disclosed; all that was mentioned was the instruction he got from Elisha. The word he got from Elisha prepared him for a higher assignment; the word he received was the platform that distinguished him above his peers. Friend, the specificity of the word you receive from God is your mark of distinction. Whatever God has told you concerning your life is a platform for you to rise above your peers and be distinguished in destiny; the word you receive from God is your comparative advantage over your contemporaries. God’s word may not distinguish you until you take it personal and run with it; God’s word may not make impact on your destiny until it orders your steps. Just like the trainee prophet took steps based on Elishas words and got distinguished, God’s word will distinguish you if you walk by it. What word have you received from God? What has God’s word said to you concerning your destiny? What is the word that God has spoken concerning your marriage, family, career, business, ministry, academics, etc? God’s word is your advantage in the midst of disadvantages; hear the word, read it, speak it, declare it, confess it, and believe it. The word you run with, will distinguish you.
