And Ephesians begins! The book of Ephesians is great. Cant wait to get to chapter 6 where we will read about the whole armor of God. But today is chapter 1... 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, I learned several years ago that one of the most effective ways to pray is to pray the Scriptures. And one of the best way to pray the Scriptures is to look at what is called by many the Apostolic Prayers in the Bible. These are passages where Paul or another New Testament writer would share with in the text things that they were praying for the church or person they were addressing. And you will find that the things that Apostles pray for may not necessarily be the things that we commonly pray for in the church. But we onow that these were SPIRIT LED as they are included in Scripture. This passage given here in Ephesians is a great example of that. As you spend extended time in prayer, keep your Bible close at hand and let the Word and the Spirit guide you through your prayers.
