And I am still working on this one! Don’t tell me what girls can do! Some people say that girls can’t add or take away or enjoy their maths some people say that girls can’t run or throw or have great football fun Some people say girls can’t do science I look at them with sad defiance My mind is full of plans and answers give me some time. Could I cure cancers? How can these jobs just be for boys? We are the same, we play with toys we read and chat and run and play How come somewhere we lose our say? Now I will say that I’ll do Maths and venture down science paths. And if we’re out, we’re in the park football might just be a lark Although sometimes I like to think And dress up in some pretty pink I am more than this narrow role have no idea what makes me whole I am a girl and I’m just starting my mind is full and keeps on darting Don’t hold me back, let me explore my mind is young and bright a raw.
