And I hit another milestone in my life, January 17, 1964 it was a Friday and I was on a Trailways bus going from Fresno CA to San Diego CA to begin my Navy career. Then before I knew it 22 years 6 months and 2 weeks to the day later it was July 31, 1986 and I was retiring leaving what I consider the best "job" and career anyone could have asked for. The 2 things I miss most since my retirement from the Navy is the travel but most of all my fellow shipmates we were always there for each other no matter what. There are not a lot of people in our society who know what it is like to have experienced this and to all my shipmates that I served with all I can say is thank you for a great career.
