And I quote, Wow, what a day yesterday was, reciting at the Presidential Palace with the president, the first lady, the vice president and many influential individuals in this life of ours present. Special thanks to God, the organising committee of the Gertrude Muthalika Beutify Malawi Trust launch and inu nonse munandipasa any support. Not only have I been motivated as a person but also have been encouraged by the way in which vernacular poetry hàs gained ground. Have I just used the word Poetry, ooh! no, ours is not poetry paja in as far as Poetry activists are concerned rather I should say I have been encouraged by the way in which our useless jokes masquarading as poetry have gainedd ground; hope you are fine with it now. Further, I would like also to thank Nasfam and the Malawi-Liverpool foundation for engaging me in the dissemination of information in their programmes. Indeed useless jokes masquarading as poetry have a potential of being an effective tool for disseminating information thus encouraging organisations to involve both real poets and us, who thrive on the name poets whilst our works are useless satires in your projects. Finally, thanks to those who value our work and encourages us........Mulungu asakusiyeni chimodzimodzi.... End of quote -ROBERT CHIWAMBA
