And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will - TopicsExpress

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in the paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. Isaiah 42:16 As we stumble along this pathway called life, it is filled with potholes and dead ends. I know firsthand how easily one can sway towards the wrong turns. The bad thing is that you realize it long before you turn around and go the right direction -- sometimes feigning ignorance CAN be bliss (straight from the horses mouth!). One of my applications for holiday assistance this morning fits right into this category, but thankfully, she learned her lesson much quicker than most. Lets call her Faith -- because it is her faith that brought her through this life lesson. She has been on disability for over twenty years, due to being manic depressive. She has super highs and unbelievable lows, and during one of her high periods, she began to shop compulsively -- she would purchase one music box and before the end of the week she would own fifteen. This is fine if you have the income, but, as we all know, a monthly disability check is around $721 -- after paying her monthly bills, she truly could not afford fifteen music boxes. She began frequenting check-cashing establishments and before long, her entire check was going towards the interest on her loans. Faith told me that one evening she was sitting on her front porch and began to sob. She cried for what seemed hours, until she finally pulled herself together and pulled out her Bible and began to read the book of Isaiah (which is one of my favorites). The above scripture was placed upon her and she prayed for guidance. The next morning, Faith went to her bank, spoke with a representative and they made a few calls to the check-cashing businesses to get her out of such a financial bind. All it took was one kind person at the bank who took a few moments of her time and gave this sweet person a whole new outcome on life in general -- kinda gives you a whole new outlook on the phrase Faith, Hope and Charity, huh?
