And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. 1st Chronicles 4:10 KJV “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation.” Psalm 42:5 ESV Here’s an anchor for your soul in the storms of life: “I am growing by His plan.” What is God’s plan for you? He wants to enlarge you, not indulge you. God is not so interested in making you happy and healthy as He is in making you holy. And so God will allow troubles to make you more like Christ. Think about the times when you have grown the most. It is when your so-called friend “Trouble” came along. Trouble comes whether we are being tempted by the Devil or an unexpected situation comes along when we are minding our own business. Trouble is what makes us or breaks us. We will either succumb to our own devices or we will put our trust even more in the power of Christ to give us the wisdom and strength to withstand trouble, and to continue in His Righteousness. What will you do when trouble comes knocking on your door?
