And Now For Something Political: MAYDAY I guess Im what most would consider a liberal/democrat. This has certainly led to more than one flame war on my Facebook posts. You may disagree with my viewpoints or choices in candidates, but this friction and opposition is a fundamental component of a healthy democracy. Working together, the constituency, though divided, should find compromise and work together to create a nation better than what we started with, for all citizens. Amidst our infighting, we failed to notice that our voices no longer even being heard. Corporate lobbying, regulatory capture, and campaign contributions now drive policy, the will of the people be damned. Executives from Comcast, Koch, McDonalds, Pfizer, P&G, Monsanto, etc have their hands in nearly every aspect of our governance. The sociopaths that run these companies, dont care about the growth and success of our nation, they care about their own bottom lines. This is not a Republican or a Democrat issue, this is a deep seated corruption within the fabric of our political process that needs to be uprooted. The MAYDAY PAC is a nonpartisan organization founded by Lawrence Lessig dedicated to this cause. They are raising money to remove money from politics. Help me restore our republic, so we can go back to flaming each other on the internet-- and actually having that interaction matter at the end of the day.
