And a look back before we begin anew.... Our 2012-13 school year was filled with many accomplishments: Academic Excellence: All school SAT 10 class averages in the 90th percentiles for Math National Merit Scholar 2013, alum of ALS, Nick Whetstone Adopted a new Interactive Science Program K-5 Adopted a new K-4 writing program 93 science fair projects completed by upper division reflecting higher-level thinking skills Next Generation Science Standards implementation along with an emphasis on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities Teacher Professional Development focused on higher-level thinking skills and questioning strategies; writing, science curriculum and iPad use Technology: One-on-one iPad program implemented for 8th grade and all teachers, including 8-hour Apple training for all teachers Apple TV installed in all classrooms Upper Division had 15 laptop computers available for students in all classes Performing Arts and Music: 3 choreographed musicals performed before full houses 7th and 8th grade classes performed in Oaks Christian Choral Festival competition and received top ranking Sports and Fitness: Year-round sports program which included adding soccer this year along with the long-standing sports of flag football, volleyball and basketball Boys Varsity Basketball and JV Soccer took the Tri-Valley League Championship Service: Ramona School (our sister school in Oxnard) Shoe Drive--500 shoes were donated Christmas Shoeboxes (Good Samaritan Project)--250 boxes were filled and donated Gifts of Hope Project--students studied and learned about the needs of students at Kakuma Refugee Camp and connected with a student name Will. They were able to donate $4,582.66 towards furnishing a school Upper division did a “Call to Action” after learning of the Malaria Project and went forth …praying, educating, fundraising K-8 gathered in small mentoring groups of mixed grades and made 40 Blankets for the Project Linus at Christmas time that went to children in need Manna was abundant as students gathered over 500 canned goods for our local food bank Fiscal: Total Fundraising Profit was $185,347
