And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: - TopicsExpress

And at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.(Acts 16 vs 25). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. It is important to note that when Paul and Silas were thrown into prison, they were bound with chains. Their feet were also bound so that they wont move. They were put in a position where movement was impossible. They were put in a position where progress was at the mercy of the enemy. They were put in a position where they seemed helpless and vulnerable. Notice that in the midst of chains, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises to God. In the midst of their chains, they made a connection with heaven. They have been put in prison, but they were still connected to the One who could release them from prison. They may have been confined to a spot, but they were connected to the One who could break their confinement. Friend, men may stop you physically, but God says, they cannot stop you spiritually. Men may take what you have, but they cannot stop you from receiving more from God. Men may create circumstances that are not in your favour, but they cannot stop you from accessing the favour of God that changes circumstances. Dont let your circumstances rob you of your connection to God. Dont allow what is happening around you to stop you from praying and seeking Gods face. Pray with me, Lord, may my connection to You disconnect me from the plans of the enemy, and connect me to Your divine plans concerning me in Jesus name.
