And before all you funksters get on my case, I dont mean funk as in https://youtube/watch?v=AoATQO82k-k I mean Brasilian funk as in - well Ill let you Google that yourselves - I would like funk, I could like funk... its just 1) not musically significant enough to waste my time on 2) it claims to be of the people, for the people, straight from da hood but really its not. If it was angrier, more violent, more passionate, had more than a passing interest in electronica, then Id pay attention. 3) The heroes of funk are so far from the hood, its ridonkulous: So why sell it as being the voice of the people, when clearly it isnt. 4) I dont need a 12 year old to tell me how to suck dick, it makes me feel a little uncomfortable, but not uncomfortable enough or challenged enough to say - Wow! 5) It insults the MASSIVE contribution of some of Brasils AMAZING rappers from the 80s and 90s and even today, because funk isnt the cutting edge bastard child of rap, but it could be... And when it is, when they get angry, get socially aware, get passionate about their lives, and not about being managed by second rate manager/mommies, then Ill give it another look/listen... Sound fair?
