And here we go on the top records of 2014... #5 Volumes-No Sleep This album was super hyped, and frankly I wasn’t sold on the Single “Vahle” that they released prior. But then the album came out and for three days it was pretty much the only record I could imagine wanting to listen to. The production is perfect for the genre. Literally one of the most stunning albums I’ve heard in a while, everything is crystal clear and is leaps above their last releases. The songwriting took a step in a better direction in my opinion as well. Many people were anti the whole “pop-stylization” of this record, but honestly I felt it was more heartfelt than a lot of the rise-core junk that is saturating the scene these days. Djent popularity is at an all time high currently and Volumes is on the top of the heap for reasons well displayed on this release. Favorite moments can be found on “Erased” and “Up all Night”.
