And heres the ABC report on the Prime Ministers implicitly racist - TopicsExpress

And heres the ABC report on the Prime Ministers implicitly racist comments at yesterdays business breakfast with David Cameron. My insider in the ABC followed up after my call, and had Brisbane reporters compile the story: abc.net.au/news/2014-11-14/abbot-describes-1778-australia-as-nothing-but-bush/5892608 Just to recap - and no, Im dont think Im overplaying my own role here: the Labor spokesman for Indigenous affairs demanded an Abbott apology only well after I made Labor, via Bill Shortens Canberra office, aware of the comments. I also alerted Greens Senator Rachel Siewerts Canberra office, who were not aware of the comments when I phoned them. The ABC did the report after I alerted them to it. New Matilda reported because I made them aware of it. From there on the story further developed - but the Guardian has been missing in action throughout this process (their columnist showed a blunt lack of interest when I phoned), and although Fairfax at the Press Gallery showed interest, nothing came from it. At the end of the day, SBS had picked up the news items and the fallout on Twitter, and they then compiled their report (link below). There was just ONE SINGLE REPORTER in this country - Mark Di Stephano, who was at the Brisbane Aboriginal protest in Musgrove Park - who was aware of Abbotts dirty discourse construction during the business breakfast, and who thought they were disturbing enough to bring them to the attention of the Aboriginal folks there. Australia is a racist country - and too often, as in yesterdays direct example, mainly so, because when Abbott shows his brazen reconstruction of Australias history, theres barely a journalist in the country who hears the sounds of racism.
