And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:17. (ESV) A couple of years ago I went to an evangelism conference in Nashville, Tenn. While I was there I visited the Upper Room gallery that housed hundreds of artifacts from around the world of the Nativity scene. It was a breath taking experience to see the ‘voices’ of these many artists celebrating the birth of the Christ Child. As I write this morning, even though we are 2 ½ months away from Christmas it does not mean we only remember this glorious event until then. The birth of Christ means the birth of promise, the birth of hope and resurrection to a new life. The Birth has meaning not just for you and me, and for the whole world. No matter what day of the year we can call attention to the truth of this event – if it wasn’t for God’s love and grace on that miraculous day we would not have the resurrection of Jesus Christ and we would still be in our sins. Our faith would not mean a thing. Take time to remember what God did for us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! Prayer: Lord God – celebration means remembering. Help us remember and celebrate the love and grace you offered yesterday, offer today and what you will offer in the days to come. Amen
