And it came to pass, when the time was come that He should be received up, (...when the fulness of the time was come... Gal 4:4 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ... Eph1:10) He stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, And sent messengers before His face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for Him. ...they did not receive Him, because His face was...(set so) He would go to Jerusalem. And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, do You will that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elijah did? But He turned, and rebuked them, and said, You know not what manner (kind) of spirit you are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. Luke 9:51-56 Jesus said this: Let these sayings sink down into your ears... Lk 9:44; consider, ponder, give place to understanding; have a hearing ear not an ear turned away unto fables, to tradition, or to deception! The Lord Jesus Christ, though He was headed to certain destruction on our behalf, did not come to this earth to bring destruction, He did not desire lives to be taken in His name! It is not His will that dogmas or mens teachings, or even the true teaching of God should be set about to kill others! Jesus came to seek and to save that which was lost! My friends, all we like sheep have gone astray,we are all lost until the Great Shepherd of our souls finds us, brings us into His sheepfold, and replaces our wandering, rebellious hearts with His own heart. The heart of a Servant, whose calling superceded the denial or rebellion of others, and whose power was not in mere words or powerful personality; rather in the Power and Annointing of the Holy Spirit of God! ..being found in fashion as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has also highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: Philippians 2:8-9
