And just to sign off, heres this weeks kcic email roundup including a take on Mondays meeting that will hopefully raise a smile! If no news is good news then this has been a pretty decent week with nothing too major… FA Cup First Round Week: Wimbledon & Coventry City - A Tale of Two Cup Winners at twohundredpercent.net/?p=24363 A take on Monday’s Sky Blue Trust meeting by long-time Trust member, former Westender Editor and great-grandson of Club founder Willie Stanley – Ian Devoy! “Over 500 members of the SBT (Les Reid’s estimation) plus an exiled AFC Wimbledon fan converged on the Squirrel pub to discuss the latest episode of the sorry off the field saga that is CCFC. These included representatives of the various warring factions (KCIC, Get Cov back to the Ricoh, NOPM, the Hillers, the Ribboners and the Levellers (I think I may have made the last one up) plus sundry elements of the Provisional, Real and Continuity SBT). The main topics discussed were updates of the latest round of talks between elements of the SBT board (Messrs Fletcher, Ellis and ‘Sisu Out’ founder Mr Mokrzycki) and the Council/ACL, Otium/CCFC (including the loathsome Fisher). Suffice it to say that massive progress had not been forthcoming; The Council have not totally ruled out ever selling to the evil empire but neither have non-existent foundations been sunk at any fictional alternative site by Otium/SISU. The rest of the meeting was taken up by discussing proposals from Michael Orton regarding the need for an Independent Inquiry into the shenanigans via Parliament, a big screen event for the Bradford away game, a candlelit vigil @ the Cathedral and the idea of making the Ricoh an “asset of Community value” (or something like that). Mr Orton’s main call though was for an end to City fans bickering and infighting as we are fundamentally of the same opinion (apart from one or two sad twats) that we all want City back in Cov; we just have different ideas of how that can be achieved. Hilariously, a row immediately ensued between elements of the newly united fanbase - so much for Unity! The motion was carried (I think). Although the SBT board did declare themselves battle weary. Aren’t we all?” Things that Tim must wish hed never said by kmj5000 at skybluestalk.co.uk Weve identified 2/3 groundshare sites in the West Midlands. I expect 3000 fans to go and 7-8000 if we are doing well…I would like to announce all the plans we have, including the transport arrangements, but the League wont let us…We have identified 2/3 sites for the new stadium and we expect to complete a purchase in the next 6 weeks…We would like to publish the results of fans survey but the league wont let us…The accounts are a mess…The ship has sailed…We have moved on…Not until they give us our 10 points back…The new stadium will have a capacity of 16000. I dont know where this figure of 12000 came from…The new stadium will be closer to the city centre than the Ricoh…The auditors are in now and the accounts will be filed in a few weeks…Well take the JH statue and move the remembrance garden…They should build a statue of Joy…Standard business practice. Coventry City Football Club (Holdings) Limited misses final deadline for filing of late accounts coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-city-football-club-holdings-6273229 Leicester’s ground the latest to be listed as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) supporters-direct.org/news-article/foxes-trust-secure-acv-status-for-leicester-citys-stadium Interruption to service – I’m off for a 4 night all inclusive break, courtesy of Walsgrave Hospital, so there might be a delay with the next mailout but fingers crossed by then our fantastic form on the pitch will be matched by some good news off it!
