And now a good story as to why Kilian will be writing that tell all book in a few years. So Kilian started coughing on Thurs but felt good enough to play basketball - so how bad can she feel, right? Friday she went to school and came home just as croupy. Sat she laid around a lot and started sort of running a bit of fever. Filled her full of OTC medicine and did the same on Sunday, adding in extra decongestant as her ear might be hurting. Monday she was still coughing and I let her stay home. Then she started complaining that her legs hurt (???) and her ear might hurt. I called the ped and they were talking to a nurse and calling me back. Kilian complained enough that I went ahead and called back and said never mind, just make me an appointment. I told Kilian that we were going to get in and the ped was going to tell us that she is a kid, kids get croupy coughs, and Mom is overreacting. Kilian informed me that I do not OVER react I UNDER react. So we go to the ped - they want to test for the flu (I had no idea the culture came from in the nose - Kilian wasnt really happy with that). Said if it wasnt flu then they would test for strep because everyone has one or the other right now. Surprise Surprise - she has the flu. Strangest flu I have ever seen, but whatever. She has the flu. Kilian makes the announcement I TOLD you that you were UNDER REACTING!!! The ped told her oh, she brought you in... she is taking care of you. (love my ped) So the doc gets out her Rx pad and starts writing tamaflu Rxs - Kilian said do I get medicine? Doc said No, I am writing Rx for your sister and the rest of your family. Kilian said Wait, let me get this straight - I am sick - I had a stick jammed up my nose - and I am being told to tough it out but AINSLEY gets medicine???? I am such the 2nd child. If you read this but didnt read my last post - go read it - it describes this strange flu in detail. I think a lot of us are getting it and not realizing it. The flu shot didnt help with this one, either.
