Thanks to the support of our locals and visitors to the area; crafters, traders and famers have somewhere to sell their wares. And now the something different and new is; “The Forest Folks Food Fare” @ Yellowwood Forest every Saturday from 10am-12pm. Come rain or shine. There will be freshly baked bread, just picked vegetables and salad greens, pickles and preserves as well as all your favorite home baked sweets and treats. It’s about making a commitment to living as locally as possible. It’s about Food. It’s about local Fare. It’s about supporting local producers of fresh farm produce and homemade and wherever possible seasonal and Organic food. It’s about supporting food that satisfies your conscience as much as your taste buds- and for the makers the opportunity for well earned pennies to stay local. It’s about reducing the gigantic carbon footprint associated with trucking stuff in. Pssssst....low footprint food is ....about being Green. Yes the future is bright Green. The bunny huggers are coming out of the closet. The ‘lunatic fringe’ are now those who refuse to embrace the changes necessary to slow down the devastating effects of Global warming. Think recycling. Think life styles that don’t harm the environment. Think local. And if you happen to be one of the few who on hearing about walking the green talk, feel you have walked enough in your life and that one shouldn’t complicate a lovely day buying local folks forest fare- talking carbon footprint; come any way. Come to sell or buy. Homemade home grown rules apply. Bring a little or bring a lot. There is no charge for trading and bartering is encouraged.
