And now, his end is near And so he faces the angry mob The council leader, hell say it clear hell state his case, of that Im certain Hes lived a life at our expense He damaged each and evry highway And more, much more than this, he did it his way Regrets, hes had a lot But then again, too many to mention he did what he had to do and saw it through without concern he planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this, he did it his way Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew When he bit off more than he could chew But through it all, when there was doubt he shut it out and shut it down he faced it all and he stood tall and did it his way His abington street, his museum and bus station his had his fill, with had our share of losing And now, as democracy subsides, he finds it all so amusing To think he did all that And may I say, not in a shy way, Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way For what is a council leader, what has he got? If not his town, then he has naught To say the things he truly feels and not to listen to those who kneel The record shows he took the blows and did it his way! (Disclaimer: Sorry Frank Sinatra, the song just fit, no disrespect to you intended)
