Weekend storm looms after days of fair weather Peter Coade says snow and strong wind forecast for most of New Brunswick Saturday night NEW7:11 AM ATCBC News New Brunswick will see a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday and fair weather on Friday, but a Noreaster sweep into the province on Saturday, according to CBC meteorologist Peter Coade. Thursday will be mainly sunny in the north, says Coade. There will be a mix of sun and cloud in the Fredericton area and thesouthwest. The day will start out mainly sunny in the southeast, then cloud over on Thursday afternoon. Wind will develop from the northeast at 15 to 20 km/h, he says, and high temperatures will range from –8 C to –6 C in the north and –6 C to –4 C in the south. Thursday night will be mostly clear with lows of –8 C along parts of the coast to –18 C in the northwest, says Coade. Friday it will cloud over in the afternoon with scattered flurries developing in northern and central areas and highs of –4 C to –8 C. On Saturday, a weak trough of low pressure will move into the region and an intensifying noreaster will arrive Saturday evening, Coade says. The storm centre will track over Nova Scotia pushing snow into southwestern New Brunswick, starting on Saturday evening. Most of New Brunswick will see snow and strong east to northeast wind overnight Saturday, says Coade. The snow could become mixed with rain along the Fundy coast, he says, with a risk of freezing rain across southern New Brunswick. Clearing will take place on Sunday, although it will still be very windy.
