And on this day where we remembered to answer the question of our age, your people, particularly the youth, assembled in the expected way, having long ago marked triumph after triumph over idle hands, promoted and indeed desired by the sloth and lazy verbal activists who know nothing of service unless it involves comfortable settings and much talking, ruminating and perplexing themselves over not much more than foolish nonsense. But those phony people and the lunacy that they devote to almost to the level of a religious experience, never once crept up on my tormented soul or troubled existence this day, in thought or in fact, as when actual work where hands meet iron is involved, this same sad sack bunch is never on the scene, your people performed more freedom under Phase I and II Greening and Cleaning, here being the beginning of verifiable progress in bringing this green space on the north side of Queens Boulevard just east of Sherry Park at approximately 67 Street, building on prior victories in this location just 6 days before. This place has inherent value and not because it is a rare open space, but because it had heretofore been abandoned to the edges of perdition, akin to where the verbal activists now find themselves, where barren lands and empty promises have scared away even the cold and darkness, is now, after decades of neglect and a whole lot of nothing, emerging from the depths, and will one day serve as the quintessential model of what commitment to man and mission can accomplish. Naturally, your youth from the various elementary, junior high and high schools were doing more to restore confidence in our people than the ancient organizations and the established powers who have yet to fully internalize the disaster in their strategic position. But enough about them as, in addition, the ever ready force of Providence brought the LDS missionaries out in number, proving certain truths about service that I shall leave to the dinner party attending, modern art museum touring, raising awareness by raising awareness clustering, protesting power by snuggling next to it grouping of these who deserve out scorn rather than our worship, and to be sure their institution and each of their members are adding the kind of value to Woodside that allows us to stand an inch taller in our collective stature. So there it is: more evidence of an ongoing project that demonstrates the steely willpower needed to wipe away the scourges of the past. (11/22/14)
