And our victory continues...breaking the glass ceiling again! In what was touted to be a FIRST, the worlds largest democracy elects its first-ever transgender mayor!!! Her election is defined by competence and talent and the will to serve her constituency. Ive always believed that for us to elect our own, the leader should really be a leader and one with real competence and skills to lead a community; one who can really connect to the grassroots. In fact, Im now more inclined to believe that the next few years will see a number of trans and LGB members holding key elective and appointive posts. Congrats to Madhu Kinnar on her election! Way to go India!
