And so Christmas Day is almost over, and as much as it was a wonderful day and in particular it has been Magickal to behold the children bedazzled by Mid-Winters charms and surprises, it is nevertheless a pleasure and a relief that the stressful and Mad build-up and crescendo is now over, and that the obsessive adherence to making it a perfect day has since lapsed as what eventually became the day now has come to pass and, in the main, all was and is well. So as we all lounge back on our comfy-sofas, stuffed fuller than the bird that not so long ago adorned our dinner-tables, and as we now recline into another glass of wine or spirits on rocks feeling tired and relived and befuddled, I hope we all take a moment to remember what happened over 3 months ago when we had our Hearts smashed and the tiny shards pulled out piece by piece on the morning of the 19th of September when the Referendum Results came in. I remember the sinking feeling, the bitter taste in my head, and the pounding waves of dejection and falling that smashed against my insides. I remember that long and painful difficult day, scrambling on the slopes for foot-holds and a ledge to cling on-to as the mountain-side had crumbled away over-night. But I also remember the fighting-spirit that rose up within me, and within every one of us in the days and weeks that followed, the Great Spirit of Ancient Caledonia and of all the Tribes and of all the Clans and of all eternal Scottish shining-stars of all our people Alive and of all since passed; unyielding, unrelenting, unstoppable, undeniable and unforgiving; as the Scottish Blood spilled on the heather of 2014 will be held worthwhile and a price well paid when an even greater measure of the opposite is drenched over our land in 2015 and beyond until our quench for Independence is well and truly realised. So as we all relax, unwind and decant into each little Clan and unto each little plan, let us hold a moments vigil on this our Cause; that and one which has its central Reason that is 1100 years of Unique History, Governance and Self-determination that will soon again be reality although the journey to this, our Heritage and Natural National state-of-being, is slightly longer and with more turns and overhangs than what it would have been had the referendum result favoured our side. So please take a moment to remind yourself of how you felt at that time and of how this new, vivid and incandescent determination to gain the Freedom of our country so that our people can lead a better and fairer life is the cornerstone of the success in the great battle of 2014 that the victors say we lost yet this triumph proves it is they who are doomed. So for today and today only, Merry Christmas to everyone and peace to all, but once we are clear into the new year mend and polish your shields, sharpen and strengthen your swords and prepare your armour for our Army is getting mobilised for Battle, and there will be nothing that they can say and no-one that they can front that will defeat us for their names and graves are marked as it is they themselves who have marked and dug them. Merry Christmas ;-) SAOR ALBA!
