And so a sad day for Liverpool. As a lot of you may know I was his biggest critic and if truth be told I was more devastated when Fowler left in 01, when Carragher retired and when Twiggy left Rovers, but Gerrard was a class player for the Pool. Early on I Remember him clearing off the line v Everton to give us a 3-2 win the same day Fowler did that wonderful celebration in front of the bitter blue lot. He has been a wonderful servant to Liverpool. He owes the club, team and fans nothing. Lets enjoy his last 4 months at the club and he will get the send off he deserves. The two biggest compliments are from Xabi Alonso on Twitter and the fact that fans of a certain other club havent shut up about him all day. People will talk about Olympiakos, Istanbul etc but to me this was his greatest game in a red shirt. Onwards and upwards. No one man is bigger than the club. Was good that the announcement was made early. Good luck to Steven Gerrard in whatever he does. He will be remembered as one of the clubs greatest servants and players.
