And so another year has ended.. I has seen some of the worst cases - TopicsExpress

And so another year has ended.. I has seen some of the worst cases of abuse imaginable, watched evil rise up in ways I could never dream of. It has not been an easy year for me being active against kill for profit.... Horses and dogs. The total disregard for animal life as well as human. It does not stop at the years end. We just get another year to make a difference. My mission this year is to raise awareness to the plight of our wild horses, yes the American Mustang. These horse are often rounded up off the range not by the BLM but by horse rustlers. They steal them in the night, ripping them from their families. These horses have proven how very strong the family unit is. Man could learn a lot from the stallion. Maybe that is what bothers them. That the horse could be such an advocate for family when humans are so quick to walk away. These horses end up at the auction. Hopefully the babies will be bought. Not so lucky are the older ones. Most people arent skilled enough to take on a wild horse. The possibility of being harmed is great..... Farrier? Good luck with that or shots or colic care....but it isnt to find good homes that these horses come into the auction. It is for money. Money that shouldnt even go to them. Most end up on the slaughter truck headed for Mexico where some will be tortured, used in Mexican Rodeos where they will break bones or have their bodies gored by Bulls. They are left to suffer in horrific pain not even worthy of a bullet to end their suffering. Or they are slaughter at the meat market and sold for food. As long as people will pay for horse meat our horses are at risk. My mission is to be a voice for the wild must and valiantly protecting their family and simply for human greed get ripped away. I was moved by this picture of this beautiful white mare desperately protecting her babies from a predator for which she stood no chance- man. A team of people tried to rescue her from an auction but she ended upon the kill pen due to a fast moving auction. She was pulled from the kill pen and now resides in Nevada where she will be having her next goal. Yes, she was being shipped to slaughter in foal. She is in a rescue that will insure her wellbeing but in the case of the wild horses, rehabilitation and rehoming is much harder than domestics. Some of these horses will never be domesticated for a number of reasons. Mostly due to being wild. My hope is to get more people involved in sponsoring these horses. To support the horses that are safe...... Please continue to follow and support my Poster Mare... Once known as the Mama Mustang defending her young at the Hermiston auction, she is now Momma Maya. She is a mother who is changing. Everything she has ever known is gone. She is forced to live a different life than she has ever known never knowing the plight of her babies she lost. She is a brave and magnificent mare. Please follow us on our Journey with Maya..... Her new page will be coming soon!!!! Once again I ask for your support in sponsoring her care. Donations can be made at DimondLRanch@yahoo .... Your donations are tax deductible as this is a501c. There is no A in Dimond and please be sure to use the friends and family section of PayPal. Again I ask for your support in sponsoring Maya. My pledge is $50.00 a month. It will take more than this for hay and vet care for baby. Please share her story as much as you can. My hope is to touch as many people around the world. I want her life to have a meaning, a message, to make a difference. I hope you will join our team. Happy New Year!!!
