And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn(Luke 2:6-8). The Manger Hello Friends, Today as we celebrate Christmas, I would like to share a message that the Holy Spirit given to me recently. Ive been wanting to share this but the Holy Spirit wouldnt allow me to. He wanted me to wait until today. Now I dont know about you but when the Holy Spirit gives you instructions, Its always best to listen to Him. If not, then what He wants done and when made interfere with the purpose of the work He has you to do. So, as we celebrate this joyous Holiday Christmas and open our presents and having a family dinner, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas and why we do what we do. Today I want to share with you a message titled The Manger. Dictionary define a manger as a box or trough in a stable or barn from which horses or cattle eat. Theres not a lot that can be said about a manger but this particular manger became oh so much more. What made this manger more than just an ordinary manger was the use that it became. You see, Mary didnt have a nice warm crib to laid JESUS in. Nor did she have a carpeted floor to laid him down on. All she had was this little manger, a feeding troth used to feed the cattle, goats and horses, ETC. to laid Our Lord And Savior , The baby JESUS in. Thats why this manger is so special to us, it held the Holy of holies. You know, I often wonder why there were no room in the inn. Why could they have made room for a woman whos about ready to conceive. You would think if nothing else they would let her stay in the lobby of the inn. At least until after the baby was born. But then again, if that were to have happen, then it wouldnt have been no manger to speak of and the birth of Christ would be looked at just another birth. This manger was probably never the same again. It wasnt just another ordinary manger no longer. Because of the use of the manger, when the farm animals came to feed afterward, their food was blessed. When they filled it with water, it became Holy. I wonder if thats where we got the term Holy Water? Hum, things that make you go ahhhh. I know Im probably sounding silly right about now but you gotta remember who Baby was laying in that manger. He was the Son of the Great I AM, The Holy One!!! All powerful and all knowing Majesty!!! So as we celebrate Christmas, let us always focus on the Birth that made Christmas possible. Anyway Ill leave you with a very familiar Christmas song Away In A Manger. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
