And so last Sunday Allie picked up a little flyer called, When United Methodists Baptize. We talked about it on the way to the gas station. I was explaining to her about how the Methodist dont dunk and how we sprinkle to Baptize. Right after I parked the van to gas it up, inexplicably large drops of apparent rain sprinkled our windshield. With not a cloud in the sky, I told Allie that the droplets must be a sign that God wants her to get sprinkled. LOL! Unsatisfied by my explanation, she darted out of the van to look up at the sky. She said, Mom, its the sign! (Rain water had collected in the gas stations sign the night before and was now dripping onto our vehicle.) But I insisted, YES! It IS a sign, beyond that its a metaphor! God DOES want you, Baby Girl, I said smiling. Her eyes were fixed starring ahead as if deep in thought, not making contact with my own...He wants everybody, she said softly.
