And that concludes another fabulous Impress Me Monday here in my world of overflowing hampers! I took the slacker parenting way out tonight and I see that I wasnt the only one! Thanks for not making me feel so bad about pulling some processed meal out of the freezer, heating it up, and calling it DONE! Thats just the way it is sometimes.... We had several people tying for third place tonight! You guys are awesome, and I appreciate your votes to help me pick the winners. Lets get to it, shall we? Third place winners are Ashley England, Mama Needs PJs and Wine, and Jill Pregzilla Williams. I must say, that colossal sandwich whipped up by Ashley was truly a masterpiece. Theres no way that I could ever wrap my mouth around all of that goodness...and my mouth is big! Impressive, very impressive Ashley, BUT, where is the BACON...I didnt see any BACON! Mama Needs PJs and Wine pulled out all the stops by creating a baked ziti dish and accompanying it with a slab of bread. Nothing beats a good Italian meal...well, except for a good Italian, but thats an entirely different story. Anyway, back to the ziti...Im sure it warmed the hearts and bellies of the entire household...and I am impressed by your dedication to cook on a Monday night! This brings me to Jill. Jill, you filled some shells with a mixture of ricotta and BACON....need I say more people? Jill had BACON, and thats definitely impressive. Our second place winner tonight was Jennifer Targosz Porada. Jennifer slaved over a slab of corned beef...and at some point sliced it up, tossed it on an onion bun topped with Swiss cheese and mustard...and then toasted it. A perfect sandwich of epic taste bud proportions. She even said her creation was easy peasy. I am impressed at your ease in the kitchen, carry on the good work Jennifer! This brings me to the first place winner tonight. Nikki Mickelson, it brings me great pleasure to hand the prize to you! Her sweet boyfriend (who I have known for 36 years...hes my older brother) apparently slaved away at the stove to whip her up a fabulous meal. He fixed chicken breasts, corn on the cob, broccoli cheddar rice, squash and onions, and applesauce. I am amazed! Perhaps the cooking gene was inherited by the two of us. He clearly had me beat tonight...and put my cooking to shame! I am proud, and seriously impressed by this sudden interest in putting a feast on the table. Nikki, you better hold on to him...especially if he can cook like that! Does he do dishes too? If so, THAT would be impressive! Thanks for playing and participating...menting, liking, and keeping up with my rants about food! XO- the Laundry Fairy
