And that is why even though people made fun of and marginalized the occupiers for just holding signs I always felt powerful regardless. I came from a very conservative background and who is to say what seed was planted that made me question and finally encouraged me to stand up? The seed is planted when the first person throws it to the wind and it lands. That seed can be a comment, a sign on a road, an editorial in the local paper. The seed takes root when more people share facts, hold signs and engage in conversation and this provides the water and the nutrients for growth. Before you know it you are awake! and aware! and throwing more seeds to the winds of change!
