And thats why we can not win the champions league I’m still - TopicsExpress

And thats why we can not win the champions league I’m still in shock at what I saw at the Emirates last night, and I can also say without a shadow of a doubt that Arsenal will NEVER win the Champions League. How we managed to only come out with a point form last night’s game against Anderlecht is beyond belief. The Gunners were firmly in control at 3-0 and with around 30-35 minutes left to play, the three points were all but ours and so was qualification into the knockout stages of the competition. However, Arsene Wenger and co. (not for the first time) managed to screw it up and make us a laughing stock of Europe and of our workplace. Although it was a horrible, horrible result, Arsenal WILL qualify to the last 16, but that’s (possibly) as far as our journey into the completion ends because we WILL claim (once again) runners-up spot behind Dortmund, meaning we WILL face one of Europe’s big guns in the next round. And if last night was anything to go by then we will face disappointment. Why will we never win the Champions League you ask? Simply because we are not good enough, nor does Wenger have any tactical wit about him. Add to that the existence of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, we don’t have a bloody chance! This is not just a knee-jerk reaction to last night’s result, but you can see that although we have some very good players, Wenger cannot lead them to European glory due to his inability to see out games comfortable and adapt when required. No other team, or should I say manager, would have lost that game from the position we were in, not Chelsea, not City, not United, not even (dare I say) the Spuds. We will qualify, but what’s the point of finishing second only to get battered in the next round? Champions League is vital to our club as it draws the money in as well as world-class players, but it’s about high-time that we got serious about this competition. We are fed up (well I am anyway) of always finishing in the top four only to obtain Champions League football and not get far. One final in the past 16-17 years is not acceptable for a club like Arsenal, and as much as I would love to see Wenger lead our side to the trophy, personally, I don’t think the Frenchman ever will. As long as Wenger remains in charge we will never see the big-eared cup in our trophy cabinet - we’ve got the players, but the manager seems lost and out of ideas.
