And the 2014 state championships are finally over..... And what a weekend it was for our Magicians. In what was a remarkable weekend we were crowned state champions in no less that 4 age groups. Our 12 boys under the moniker of Sydney Strikers coached by Ferdi Maniti started our winning streak, our 14 boys playing as Futsal Fanatics and led by Greg Clarkson secured our second title whilst our 16 boys under Robbie Maiorana sealed our hat-trick. Our Mens reign under former Futsalroo coach Steven Knight couldnt have gotten off to a better possible start after sealing our 4th and final State Championship trophy. Incredibly every team bar our 15 girls made the semi finals and they got knocked out in the Qtr finals on the lottery of a penalty shoot out. Our 13 girls lost in a hard fought semi final in golden goal, Our 17g lost a hard fought semi 2-1 whilst our womens lost their final on Penalties after a 3-3 draw. Our youngest Magicians, our Academy and Pre Academy sides cast a spell over the opposition as well only losing 1 game between them in their 7 fixtures. A special shout out goes to Lauren Featherstone of our 17 girls team who was taken to hospital with a facial Injury and concussion. Take care lozza we are thinking about you and hope to see you running riot on the Futsal court sooner rather than later. To all the teams representing Magic this weekend, You showed immense skill and played in typical magic fashion showing plenty of heart and determination. You should all be extremely proud of yourselves. Congratulations.
