And the news from the consultant / surgeon is: 1) Although the tumour was quite large, it wasnt growing out of the prostate --- there was healthy tissue between it and the outside surface, which means that in removing the prostate we have removed all of the tumour. 2) Examination of 25 nearby lymph nodes and other tissues that these cancers often spread to revealed Zero cancer. 3) So it looks like it was only in the prostate, and weve cut it all out, and now its (standard) checkups for the next ten years, and the likelihood that the cancer will return during that time is less than 5%. :) HAPPY FINN. (And Ive bought a packet of crisps to celebrate!)
