And the shocking results are out about attitudes concerning sin among different religious groups in America! “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” (Matt. 7:20). More than any other group in America, and despite very large theological differences with orthodox Protestants or Catholics (Mormons are not Trinitarians, to name just one basic belief), the LDS church is far more effectively passing on classic Christian cultural beliefs, attitudes, and practices about marriage. Not perfect, but much more effective and successful in the attempt to become more like Christ and to follow his teachings as His Disciples. I believe it is the understanding that the letter of the law is less important as the spirit of the law. If the spirit of the law is better understood then the letter of the law becomes much easier to successfully follow, thus leading to living a higher standard.
