And the sons of the Prophet that were at Jericho came to Elisha, - TopicsExpress

And the sons of the Prophet that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him,Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy Master from thy head today? And he answered, Yea,I know it;hold ye your peace.(2 Kings 2 vs 5). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. In Todays Focal Scripture, some sons of the Prophet came to Elisha and asked him if he knew that God was about to take Elijah home. So, these sons of the Prophet were aware of Elijahs impending departure; they knew that his mission was about to end,and they were aware that a Major Prophet was about to bow out. As prophets-in- training, they would have also known that there was need for another Major Prophet to emerge. Notice that when they came to Elisha, they only talked about Elijahs departure without making any effort to be a part of the process. They had a chance to follow Elijah and ask for a share of his anointing but rather than ask, they were content to watch him depart. They had a rare opportunity to receive a part of the divine deposit that made Elijah tick, but rather than go for it,they became mere spectators that told the story. Friend,God says, take a shot at opportunities that come your way; dont be a spectator in destiny. You have what it takes to be distinguished by the opportunities that come your way. Opportunities may not come with your name on it,all you have to do is just to grab it and put your label on it. Dont watch opportunities pass you by,only to tell the story when you miss out. If you have what it takes to be a player on the field, then change position and location, you have no business being a spectator. Prayer: Lord,I refuse to be a spectator in destiny;I will see opportunities and take them as they come in Jesus name. Have a Restful Saturday!
