And this folks is why we will be doing what we are doing tonight! Please take time to read this! Hey Dusty! I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. My family and I will be unable to attend the Law Enforcement event tonight because we are out of town, but I just wanted you to know how much it means to me. Growing up in a law enforcement family has not been easy. Along side the constant ridicule, it consists of many long nights that dad has to spend at the office... which means less family time for us. More often than not when he is home he is far too tired to do things with us as a family. Lately, he has been very upset following the recent events that have been blasted across the media. It pains me to learn about these tragedies and then to watch him grieve with the death of his fellow law enforcement brothers. I know that there are bad cops out there but the vast majority are just trying to protect and serve. By you raising awareness, you are helping to put a smile on our faces along with every other law enforcement family, friend, and loved one that hears of it. At times I have wished that my father had chosen a different career. A selfish thought I know,but at the end of the day, I am glad that he is able to serve and protect those that he loves. Websters dictionary defines a hero as An illustrious warrior. A man admired for his achievements and noble qualities. One who shows great courage. I think that that not only accurately describes my daddy, along with all other emergency workers, but also people like you and those that are in support of them.
