And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if He hears us - whatever we ask, we know that we have [received] the petition that we desired of Him. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our pease was upon Him; **and with his stripes we ARE healed.** Who His (Jesus) own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: ***by Whose stripes you WERE healed.*** But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name the shall cast out devils; they shall speak in new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. God is a god who gives life to all things (1st Timothy 6:13). Jesus came to give life, and to give it in abundance (John 10:10). God does not tempt anyone (James 1:13). Therefore anything that is solely temptation is not from God, and should be resisted since it of the devil (James 4:7).
