And this isnt even a future problem, its happening now. There are more unemployed people than there are available jobs. Even if every job could be filled (which they cant because many require qualifications and experience) then there would still be a large number of people left without employment. And its not even a modern problem. Its been a problem for thousands of years, its just that now we have societies where throwing poor people into prison for being poor is ostensibly a bad thing. We have constantly made things easier for ourselves and that has always meant that fewer people were required to do the jobs that needed to be done. Unemployment is going to increase, and there is no way to stop that. We have to stop aiming for 100% employment (which has never been realistic anyway) and figure out how to deal with the fact that a lot of people just arent going to have jobs.
