And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s - TopicsExpress

And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You.” Gen 28:22. Now I want you to think about this, if the tithe was a command from God that one must pay, how come Jacob was using it to make a deal with the Lord? He made it conditional; if God blesses him, he vows to tithe. That doesnt seem to be the understanding many have today. It seems you tithe first for God to bless you. Do you know tithe is all about the blessing? Not about labour. God doesnt expect a tithe from you until He blesses you first because the tithe is a celebration of the blessing. Why then do people murmur and complain when they tithe? God will not receive it from you when you dont bring it with a grateful heart. Listen! From yesterdays scripture, have you ever wondered what Melchizedek was doing with bread and wine? Where is the next place you find bread and wine? Jesus! And in both cases it was not in a temple. What is the significance? Let us establish something important. The tithe was done by their freewill. It wasnt a demand, but that freewill shows you are connected to the Lord as your source. Now how do you think Jacob gave his tithe? Do you know God met him physically like Melchizedek met Abraham physically? You see, they dealt with God on a one on one basis. And that is what we are suppose to do today. If you dont break off that slave mentality from your mind when you tithe, youll never enjoy the benefits of tithing. With your tithe, you can provoke a meeting with God. You can bring the presence of God into your home by your tithe. Say to Him Lord, Im under the priesthood of Melchizedek, where you come yourself to receive the tithe. Can you come and receive my tithe? Like I have taught in my book on tithing, Gods way of receiving our tithe is when He tell us what to do with it. Get into this tithing relationship with the Lord and begin to enjoy all the fruitfulness from the Lord. GBU
