And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another - TopicsExpress

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. (Matthew 25: 15). Each according to his ability In His famous parable of the talents, Jesus said three people were given something to invest, each according to his ability. Note, God will give you only what you have the ability to handle. If you didnt get the same talents as your neighbor, dont worry, just use what He gave you. The first worker doubled his. Wouldnt you like to have him advising you? The second did the same. But the third caved in to fear and buried his. Now when you fail to invest what God gives you, He loses His return and you lose the rewards you would have enjoyed. Fear is your number one enemy; it freezes your faith and cripples your creativity. Your money, time, talent, love, etc. are seeds that must be sown; so sow them into something you believe in, something that will outlive you. Everything God gives you is meant to be multiplied. By failing to do so, you eventually forfeit it. Christs parable ends with these sobering words: Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. (Matthew 25:28). Ever notice how those who pour generously into the lives of others are constantly refilled, while those who worry about parting with it, end up losing it or not enjoying it? Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. (11 Corinthians 9:6). Ask any farmer; your harvest only begins when you take your seed out of the barn and put it into the ground. That way God has something to work with. So the word for you today is - use what God gave you! While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest-shall not cease. (Genesis 8:22). To succeed in life you must seek Gods direction, prepare yourself, work hard and invest in the right things. The Bible says God gives us the ability to make money (see Deuteronomy 8: 18). So never apologize for that ability! But material success is only part of it. Gods real objective is to make you a channel through which His blessings flow to others. Hes not opposed to you owning things, as long as they dont own you! God wants your greatest joy to be in Him, the Giver, not His gifts. Money can be a tool for good or evil, and one reason God wants you to have it, is to make sure it gets to the right places and funds His purposes. Parents, teach your children that saving and investing are essential to good stewardship. And dont just preach it, practice it. For example, if you earn $40,000 a year and spend it eating out and buying the latest clothes, youll end up with a full stomach, an expanding waistline, a crammed closet and empty pockets! The Bible says: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest - shall not cease. Notice the sequence in this Scripture: first you plant your seed, then you give it time, then you reap your harvest. Consistent sowing guarantees consistent reaping. Each seed planted, schedules a harvest. For example, four dollars a day (a cup of cappuccino) invested at 6 percent, becomes almost a million dollars in forty six years. Isnt it worth foregoing a few luxuries now in order to be secure later, to be in a position to fulfill Gods purpose, and hear Him say, Well done, good and faithful servant. (Matthew 25:21). These are signs! A sign in an apartment window in Los Angeles read: Drums for sale. In an adjoining apartment window, another sign proclaimed: Thank God. Sign in a Pastors office: Thank God its Monday. Americans dont fear the Lord as much as they do the next payment. We are always saving somebody away off. When the fellow next door to us, Doesn’t Have Food To Eat . Something To Think About!!! Evangelist Steven Ferguson.
