And were back at it! Germany vs. France. The outcome of this - TopicsExpress

And were back at it! Germany vs. France. The outcome of this game, in my opinion, will be determined by the willingness of Jogi Löw to reconsider his approach. Germany has on paper, in my opinion had the strongest team the last two World Cups, and has been lost by Jogis inability to adapt. He certainly has shown he cant switch things on the fly, but he has had two weeks to change his mind about a system that is limiting one of the most stacked midfields and attacks in the tournament, while further weakening an already frighteningly shaky defense. Repeat after me, Phillip Lahm is not a central midfielder. He is however, one of the best defenders with a very strong capability to attack. Just because hes wearing the captains armband, doesnt mean he needs to be in the middle of the field. Schweinsteiger isnt flashy, but man is he solid. Ball after ball played, has been spot on in this tournament. The midfielder Lahm has replaced in other games? Sami Khedira, who just got offered a a 24 million pound transfer deal to Arsenal. Germanys midfield almost has TOO many options, yet the defense is struggling. Why you would take your best defender and have him play in the midfield makes no sense to me. So here it is: Schweinsteiger/Khedira in the midfield: Germany 2:1 Schweinsteiger/Lahm in the midfield: France 2:1 Theres an old saying, You can always tell a German, you just cant tell them much. Lets see if Jogi listens.
