“And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.” Acts 9:26&27 Don’t be so quick to judge others based on past experiences, or second hand knowledge, or someone else’s call. Take the time to get to know a person for yourself, and then make your own assessment. Who knows what God has done in the heart of a man since his last offences. Barnabas had taken time to get to know Paul and knew the change was of God and personally saw to it that Paul was accepted by the others. And we know the rest of the story, don’t we? Paul went on to be a blessing to the church. How awful it would have been if the disciples never accepted him; for them, not for Paul. ;)
